Even though inflation has decreased for 12 consecutive months to 3 percent in June, 81 percent of consumers say inflation will impact their Back-to-School spending, according to Cotton Incorporated’s 2023 Back-to-School Survey. Shoppers will be looking for deals when they shop for BTS clothes, and that translates to good news for discounters. Two-thirds of consumers (66 percent) will be heading to mass merchants like Walmart and Target. While this offers consumers a way to keep up with trends and purchase new clothing at affordable prices, this growth has also been associated with environmental concerns due to its high turnover of inexpensive clothing items, contributing to waste accumulation and increased carbon emissions. #fastfashion #retailindustry #shopping #environment #factfriday
