Overwhelming engagement and response on Atlas Copco’s #NeverStopLearning week

We celebrated our first ever #NeverStopLearningWeek June 14-18 with great sponsorship from leaders across the Group.

As the name of the event indicates, learning happens all the time, every day, but Atlas Copco also wanted to dedicate a week to inspire and give every employee the possibility to join at least one learning activity during one specific week of learning celebration.

Feedback on the event shows that it was a big success. Employees from all regions and business areas engaged actively in a wide variety of activities – live webinars with external and internal speakers, lunch & learn sessions, learning café’s, panel discussions, learning playlists, workshops, and even after-hour activities, like virtual factory tours, recommended podcasts and documentaries.

Topics like “The Learning Brain and How to Use It ” and “Why should I invest in Atlas Copco” were highly appreciated by participants. Other popular topics included AI, Innovation, Presenting virtually, Digitalization, Increasing Presence and Impact, Virtual Selling, Change Management, Sustainability, and much more. There were more than 20,000 registrations for activities during the week, and even more, people participated as registrations were not required for many of the activities. Additionally, employees from 41 countries signed up for a week of free online English training with our partner EF.

What did we learn as a company? We are very proud of our employees, for their learning dedication, passion, and curiosity shown during the week to learn more and upskill themselves. All employees have access to a large variety of both online and blended learning activities through our Learning Management System and providing a smorgasbord (Swedish for “variety” or “wide range”) of activities during a specific week was shown to be a great complement to spark additional interest and engagement around learning. Events like this recognize that it’s not only allowed but recommended to book time for learning in our calendars.

During this past year, we have all seen that virtual works and now we also learned that it is possible to have interactive training with large groups, some of the webinars had over 1,000 participants. Spin-offs, like quarterly learning cafés, are being planned, webinar recordings will be available throughout the year and when we ask our employees if they would like to have the #NeverStopLearningWeek on an annual basis – the answer is a big YES. Feedback is being collected so that we can do even better in 2022!
