About us
At Chemonics, development is more than a passion or calling. It’s a profession. We have been building more efficient and resilient health supply chains in more than 60 countries since 2016, ensuring the availability of essential commodities and medicines down to the last mile. We work to strengthen health systems through a whole-system support that includes fostering collaboration with the private sector; optimizing the health workforce; pushing boundaries in market system development; and improving HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning, and maternal & child health outcomes. And we deliver results. Thanks to our global network of health and supply chain specialists with decades of experience operating in complex social and political environments, we know how to quickly mobilize resources, seamlessly adapt to change, and strategically apply lessons learned across all our projects.

📈Strengthening In-Country Malaria Supply Chains in Francophone Africa📈 Since 2017, through the USAID Global Health Supply Chain-Technical Assistance Francophone Task Order (GHSC-TA FTO), Chemonics has been working with governments across West and Central Africa to improve the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of national health #SupplyChains. As part of these efforts, we have worked closely the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (#PMI) to protect communities from #malaria while simultaneously strengthening #HealthSystems. 🦟In the Democratic Republic of the Congo #DRC, GHSC-TA FTO supported the distribution of malaria commodities valued at more than $5 million from Regional Distribution Centers to 177 health zones in nine provinces from October 2022 to September 2023, enabling broader access to malaria commodities, protecting lives and communities. 🦟In #Benin, GHSC-TA FTO increased the availability of malaria commodities and reduced the amount of stockouts of these lifesaving commodities. From 2022 to 2023, the average stockout rates for malaria commodities remained below the 5% target at all levels of the supply chain (3.7% at service delivery points, 3.1% at the regional level, and 3.1% at the central level). Reducing stockouts means that more commodities are getting into the hands of people who need them. At Chemonics, we know investments to #EndMalaria save lives and help improve economic growth. We are committed to continue working toward the global vision of a world without malaria by building strong partnerships that foster local solutions and #StrongSystemsForHealthForAll. 📷: Workers from Manlo Distribution Logistics load mosquito net bundles onto a truck from Camekol Main Warehouse, Kolwezi, DRC. From 2017 to 2024, the Chemonics-implemented USAID Advancing Universal Health Coverage (AUHC) Activity achieved a remarkable feat: it supported the consolidation of 25 independently managed smiling sun clinics, previously overseen by various non-governmental organizations, into the unified Surjer Hashi Network (A health care social enterprise) —a single, robust, accessible healthcare provider. This transformation wasn't just about streamlining operations; it provided some revitalization in the #HealthSystem in #Bangladesh ensuring enhanced efficiency and long-term viability. Now that the project is over, we’re proud to share the activity’s final report, which delves into the heart of our journey, unveiling crucial insights and best practices, and lessons learned. Within its pages, you'll discover inspiring success stories and methodologies to achieve #UniversalHealthCoverage: https://ow.ly/3qEp50SygVA
