Are you initiating the conversation about #digital lifestyles with your patients? If not, a recent report from CooperVision provides a thorough checklist of considerations and conversation starters related to digital device use. As Dr. Jeffrey Anshel, OD - E Street Eyes, the founder of the 20-20-20 rule says in this recent ECP Viewpoints article, ““I don’t ask ‘if’ a patient is using a computer anymore. I assume they are. Now, I ask, ‘How many hours a day do you spend on a computer or digital device?’” https://lnkd.in/gr8N3Jzj

Congratulations to our own Dr. Louise Sclafani for receiving the American Optometric Association Contact Lens & Cornea Dr. “Uncle Frank” Fontana Award! Optometry’s beloved Uncle Frank had a remarkable 70-year career and left an indelible imprint on the profession. Dr. Sclafani received this distinct recognition for her passion in educating patients and colleagues about #contactlens technology, her advocacy for changing patient's lives through healthy contact lens use, her steadfast commitment to giving back to #optometry through the education of other practitioners, and for exemplifying the principles that Dr. "Uncle Frank" Fontana did so seamlessly in the areas of mentoring students and colleagues. Congratulations, Dr. Sclafani!
